About the Coffee

This washed coffee comes from Priory Farm in Nandi County, part of Kenya’s North Rift region. The farm is operated by Great Rift Coffee, a vertically integrated producer managing every stage of production — from cultivation to export.

Founded in 2019, Great Rift farms around 300 acres of coffee while working closely with 250–300 neighbouring smallholder farmers, supporting them through seedling distribution, agronomy training and access to finance. Their work is helping unlock the potential of Kenya’s North Rift, a region that remains under-recognized but is quietly producing exceptional coffees.

Coffee grows under indigenous shade trees, alongside crops such as macadamia and beekeeping projects that support biodiversity and soil health.

After careful hand-sorting and flotation, cherries are pulped, washed and briefly skin-dried before spending 10-14 days drying on raised African beds. The coffee is turned regularly and protected from rain and harsh sun, ensuring a slow and even drying process that preserves structure and clarity in the cup.

In the Cup

A vibrant and structured cup with notes of dates and molasses sweetness, layered with cola spice and lifted by bright grapefruit acidity.

Sweet, lively and quietly complex.

Bright, but grounded

Depth and citrus brightness in balance —sweet, expressive and composed.

Brew it slow. Let the flavours unfold. Sip slowly.
