This AA lot comes from Ruiru Mills Estate, a 65-hectare farm in Kiambu with a long and layered history. Originally established during the colonial era, it is now owned by Sasini, one of Kenya’s most respected coffee producers and a publicly listed company with majority Kenyan ownership.

Sasini’s estates are known not only for quality coffee, but for a strong commitment to equity and community support. Estate workers receive secure housing, early childhood education, union representation, and wages above the legal minimum. The company also invests in local infrastructure - in partnership with Olam Specialty and over 30 roasters - most notably the development of a new computer lab at Njenga Karume Primary School to support digital literacy for local students.

The coffee itself is a classic washed Kenyan profile: vibrant acidity, deep fruit sweetness, and remarkable clarity. SL28 and SL34 varieties, grown in the fertile red volcanic soils of Kiambu, deliver a cup that is structured, bright, and unmistakably Kenyan.
